MAESTRO RESERVA

Brugal
The background
Maestro Reserva is a masterpiece crafted by five generations of Maestros Roneros, truly celebrating Brugal’s legacy and craftsmanship. This creation showcases Brugal's art of cask toasting, known as Dark Aromatic Toasting. American Oak Sherry casks, filled with rum and then emptied, are precisely toasted to create delicate caramelised pearls within the cask before being refilled. The rum absorbs the natural caramel, revealing exceptional flavours.
At PARTISAN DU SENS, our goal was to translate Brugal’s unique expertise into retail experiences and enlighten the consumer on this new expression and its unique process.
The creation
A luxurious and minimalist discovery table that showcases the bottle. An interactive experience where consumers are invited to discover smoky, toasted nut, and caramel notes through copper scented ceramics. A distinctive pattern runs across the table, playing with the inverted codes of Brugal colours.
Another design developed by Partisan du Sens, the Brugal Glorifier, recalls the power of flames and nods to the house’s toasting process. This time, the Brugal frame is entirely blue, with the inside of the flames in gold, reflecting light onto the precious liquid.
A second glorifier, mounted on a podium, allows the precious bottle to be displayed at a greater height.

Partisan du Sens has also imagined two configurations for display windows to showcase the luxurious Brugal rum.
One features a single arch from Casa Brugal with the agency-designed glorifier podium at its centre. The other consists of three arches, with the same podium in the centre and strategically placed shelves on the side arches holding Brugal bottles.
The ritual
Partisan du Sens has designed a multi-ritual experience with two possible configurations: one with four glasses and one with two.
The first serve ritual, a rotating display, glorifies the Maestro Reserva bottle as a sculpture, evoking the flames of toasting playing on the inversion of Brugal's blue pattern, while the tray, adorned with the same pattern, is gold. This pattern also evokes the decorations of caramels found in haute pâtisserie, directly referencing the toasting process and the creation of the natural caramel pearls created in this rum. Accessories such as a strainer and a gold coaster are cleverly revealed by opening the tray, allowing for a deeper immersion into the art of tasting.
For the second serve ritual, featuring two glasses, we created sculptural coasters reminiscent of the flames used to toast the barrels. A drawer under the tray reveals storytelling elements about the making of this exceptional rum.
